A quick response by Wenatchee Police helped avert a possible suicide attempt when officers were able to talk a female from jumping off the George Sellar Bridge Friday. Wenatchee Police Captain Edgar Reinfeld said RiverCom received calls shortly after 11:30am that an emotionally disturbed female had taken a family vehicle and was possibly suicidal.  A short time later, witnesses called 9-1-1 to report a female was observed climbing over the Sellar Bridge railing

Reinfeld did not have the female's age or hometown but said the officer's crisis intervention training skills were utilized to perfection in this case.  The incident backed up traffic while officers convinced the woman to not jump from the bridge.
