
Prestige Senior Living Offers Informational Meeting to Avoid Elder Financial Fraud
Prestige Senior Living at East Wenatchee is hosting an informative session to offer precautionary tips, and educate folks about the dangers for elder finance abuse and fraud. The meeting is free and is next Thursday, February 6 at 2 p.m.
"Prestige Senior Living invites the greater Wenatchee community to come attend a session to learn about the dangers and potential for elder financial abuse and fraud," said Teri Ayala, community relations director.
The session will offer older adults guidance on how to protect themselves from email phishing, financial scams among other possible avenues of fraud. Edward Jones representative, Adan, will share with participates the different types of scams and tips on how to set up safeguards to prevent financial exploitation.
"According to the U.S. Consumer Financial Protections Bureau, reports of suspicious financial activity involving older adults totals upward of $35 billion each year and continues to grow," said Ayala.
