Mission Ridge filed an amendment and some supporting documents to their expansion plans that were originally given to Chelan County two years ago.

General Manager Josh Jorgensen says not much has changed, from what they proposed initially.

"We had time to make some tweaks and changes. We brought in some other resort planners and so we made some alignment changes and some minor adjustments to the site design."

The expansion, which will happen in five phases over 20 years, includes condos and townhouses, more than 100-thousand square feet of commercial space, a lodge, employee housing and much more. The development also includes a new access road, internal roads, ski trails and lifts.

Jorgensen says after filling their original plans, it continues to get better.

"There is a ton of reasons to make sure that skiing stays affordable, stays accessible and that we have the capacity to really serve the demands of the community as far as what we can do. We really excited about this."

A public comment period will run through March 30th. Jorgensen says there will also likely be the opening of a public comment period on their expansion by the U.S. Forest Service soon.

Comments on the proposal will be used to prepare an environmental threshold determination which will then be issued for additional comments. Comments must include your name, current address, and should be as specific as possible. Any person has the right to receive notice, participate in any hearings, request a copy of the final decision and appeal the decision as provided by law.

Written or emailed comments must be submitted to the Department of Community Development, 316 Washington St., Suite 301 Wenatchee, WA 98801; Attention: RJ Lott, Planning Manager or email RJ.Lott@co.chelan.wa.us for additional information or to review application materials.
