Second Wenatchee SRO Official After City Council Vote

The Wenatchee City Council made the Wenatchee School District's second School Resource Officer (SRO) official after approving the city's half of the cost Thursday evening.

Mayor Frank Kuntz was appreciative of Superintendent Dr. Paul Gordon and district staff after the idea of a second SRO seemed impossible back in February.

"We're excited for the school resource officer." Kuntz said, "We're really thankful to the school district for coming up with the funding. We really need two police officers working not just the high schools but the middle schools and other parts in our city."

SRO Jared Reinfeld will cover the two high schools, the second SRO will be in charge of the district's three middle schools, and the pair will split time in the elementary schools.
