A semi driver and her passenger are recovering after a rollover crash on State Route 243 about 12 miles south of Mattawa Thursday morning.

Trooper John Bryant said the semi was headed southbound with a full load of apples just after 7:00 am when it went off of the road to the right, overcorrected, and rolled over onto its top.

"Unfortunately, this really crushed the front end of the semi, so both the driver and passenger were kind of stuck in the semi until firefighters were able to get there and extricate them, which took quite a while," said Bryant.

Both the driver, 27-year-old Brandi Miller of San Antonio, and her 37-year-old male passenger were taken via Life Flight to Kadlec Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Miller was cited for inattention. The road was blocked for about three hours.
