Serve Wenatchee Valley, known for its contributions to the Valley with events like Clothes for the Classrooms and Coats for Kids, has moved to a new roomier location at 12 Orondo Avenue. Serve Wenatchee, in conjunction with Wenatchee Valley Chamber of Commerce, is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house to celebrate the new home on November 15.

"We were filling every nook and cranny and just needed a little more space," said Donna Pruitt, program director.

Not only will the open house allow visitors to get a peek into the fresh office space, but also presents a learning opportunity to get a better feel for what Serve Wenatchee provides the surrounding community.

"So people can mill around and see the offices, how we lay everything out, what we're going to be doing, what kind of services we'll be providing from this location," said Pruitt. "I think it'll be pretty educational and informative to people if they've never been into our office or worked with us before. They'll probably learn a lot more about what we do on a day to day basis, situations we work with and things like that."

Serve Wenatchee has its hands full with projects and with the new space, there is now more room for more volunteers to join the team. According to Pruitt, the organization is looking to welcome more volunteers aboard to help out during the normal operation hours (Monday-Thursday, 9-12 or 12:30-1:30).

"We are needing more volunteers because the space is kind of large, so if one person has to step away from the front counter for a family that's come in, we still need another person at the front counter," said Pruitt.

The ribbon cutting ceremony starts at 11 and will be wrapped up by 1.
