State Health Secretary Meets With Wenatchee Nonprofit
A Wenatchee nonprofit is getting support in its COVID-19 outreach from the state Health Department.
Secretary of Health Dr. Umair A. Shah met with the bilingual group CAFE, also known as Community for the Advancement of Family Education Thursday.
Shah spoke with CAFE co-founder Alma Chacón.
He met with the Grant County Health District Wednesday to focus on the effects of COVID-19 on the health care system.
Both Chelan and Grant counties have hospitals with high levels of COVID-19 patients.
Numbers from the state show Chelan County with a noticeably higher level of vaccinated residents (64%) than Grant County (50%).
CAFE's Chacón says she concerned about misinformation about the virus. " For some reason myths can spread faster than truth," said Chacón.
