Applications will start being accepted on February 1 for the 2021 Supernova Business Launch Competition with Q&A sessions throughout the month of January. Regional start ups or small businesses interested in expanding are invited to apply for the $10,000 prize.

Q&A sessions to provide insight on the competition are offered at 8 a.m. on the 11th, 21st and the 25th.

"The Q&As are really beneficial for us to introduce ourselves, explain a little bit about the competition because there are somethings that make this competition unique and different from other entrepreneurial competition," said Alyce Brown, NCW Economic Development District executive director.

There is no fee to apply for the competition and the workshops are provided at no cost, thanks to partners and sponsors.

"The Q&A allows us to step them through the process," said Brown. "It gives us a chance to talk to them, let them know what the judges are looking for, how the point system works."

This is the second year NCW Economic Development District has hosted the competition. The six week business boot camp this year will be done virtually and offered in both English and Spanish.
