The Washington State Patrol reports the driver of a car will face felony DUI charges after hitting two bicyclists on State Route 28 Sunday afternoon.

Troopers say 38-year-old Linnea Fahrnkopf of Seattle was driving westbound on SR 28 south of Palisades Rd. just after 1 pm when she left the roadway to the right and rear ended two of eight bicyclists traveling on the shoulder.

The car came to a rest in a ditch 75 yards from the scene.

The two bicyclists, 53-year-old David Cook and 43-year-old Jerad McGill, both of Tacoma, were taken to Central Washington Hospital with injuries.

Fahrnkopf was also taken to the hospital with injuries, and is charged with felony vehicular assault after troopers determined she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Fahrnkopf was driving a 2009 Infiniti G37 at the time of the crash.
