Two people are dead after an accident on westbound Highway 2 just east of the Big Y Wednesday after 3:00 pm.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a 1979 Chevy Camaro and a 2005 GMC Sierra pickup were involved in a T-bone collision at US 2's intersection with Foster Road near the Dryden Shell station.

Those first on scene reported the Camaro's driver, a 60-year-old woman, had passed away.

Her passenger was transported via ambulance to Central Washington Hospital with critical injuries. Sadly, the 59-year-old man died about an hour and a half later from his injuries.

The driver of the pickup is listed as uninjured. Names of the deceased are being withheld as investigators work to inform next of kin.

The causing driver has yet to be determined.
