Five people are recovering with minor injuries after being involved in a two vehicle accident Monday morning around 7:40 on Highway 2 just west of Wenatchee.

Trooper John Bryant said 46-year-old Raquel Mancera of Monitor was cited for following too closely after striking the back of a pickup when attempting to change lanes. The early morning sun may have played a factor.

"The sun is pretty low now because we're getting to that time of the year. When it's coming up it's going to be really bright." explained Bryant, "Get yourself a good pair of sunglasses, use that shade, slow down, and if the sun is bothering you too much pull off of the roadway."

Mancera and her three passengers plus the driver of the pickup were all taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The road was at least partially blocked for an hour and a half.
