The Wenatchee Wild fell behind early and couldn't recover in a 6-3 loss at Salmon Arm last night.

Their season is now over after the team erased deficits of 2-0 and 3-2 in their best-of-seven series before the loss in the finale.

Wenatchee played a strong first 15 minutes but a couple of second chance opportunities allowed Salmon Arm to score three goals in a three-minute span to lead 3-0 at the first intermission.

The lead swelled to 5-0 before the Wild finally found the net for three unanswered goals. Salmon Arm scored late on an empty netter to close out the scoring.

“I couldn’t be prouder of this group for battling until the final buzzer," said Wild Head Coach Chris Clark. "Not the outcome we wanted tonight but that’s the way it goes. We got it to a best of 1 and Salmon Arm got it done tonight. You have to give them credit too, they are a heck of a hockey team."

On a bright note. Wild forward Quinn Emerson was named the No-1 Star of the Week in the BCHL. Emerson had six goals and two assists for a league-high eight points in four games over the week.
