Work on Slope East of Leavenworth Pushed Back a Day

Work on the area of last week's mudslide just outside of Leavenworth has been pushed back a day because of weather.

According to the the Washington State Department of Transportation, the rock scaling work on the slope off of the eastbound lane on Highway 2 is now planned for Wednesday and Thursday. A contractor for WSDOT will perform the project from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days, as conditions allow.

Travelers between Leavenworth and Wenatchee should expect roughly 20 minute delays.
