Troopers Advise to Keep Christmas Lights Off of Vehicles
Washington State Patrol suggests to keep the Christmas decorating off the roadway or at the least to a minimum. Due to Washington Administrative Code, gets specific as to what can be on vehicles and that applies to additional lighting.
"In terms of lights, it goes into lights you can have on vehicles, the colors of the lights, the distance from the ground and how bright the lights can be," said Trooper John Bryant.
Trooper Bryant warns a vehicle with lights not in compliance, has the possibility of getting pulled over and receiving a fine of $139. Vehicles with blue lights and red flashing lights are reserved for law enforcement and emergency vehicle. White lights can also not be showing through a vehicle, minus a license plate lights.
As for the reindeer antlers and wreaths on the front of vehicles, Trooper Bryant states those don't match what is in the code.
