Brush Fire Burns Above Wenatchee Friday

Crews from Chelan County Fire District 1 and Douglas County Fire District 2 responded to the 500 block of Connery Road in Wenatchee Heights for a brush fire Friday afternoon.

Fire personnel arrived around 1:40 pm to a slow-moving quarter acre brush fire in between a couple of homes.

Captain Brandon Kuntz said, "It appeared to have been ignited from a neighboring burn pile that we believe embers were cast across the driveway and potentially burned the other side."

Firefighters were able to keep the fire to about a quarter acre and had the blaze in mop-up by about 3:00 pm. There were no injuries or reports of property damage.
