Chelan County commissioners are in the process of appointing a task force with plans to give the group roughly three months to tackle short term rental issues. The task force and the moratorium on short term rentals are tied together, so commissioners are likely to extend the moratorium to April.

"The way the calendar is set then, they would begin probably within a week if we get them appointed this week and that'll go through mid to late April," said Commissioner Bob Bugert. "The moratorium we have set right now goes through February. We want to make sure the moratorium is still in place while this task force has the opportunity to develop recommendations."

Commissioners will listen to public testimony for the task force and moratorium Tuesday with 50 plus people currently lined up to testify.
