Chelan County commissioners were prompted by fire marshal Bob Plumb to pass a resolution designating the Valley Zone's fire hazard level as high and the Chelan Mountain Zone as moderate. The designation went into effect Tuesday, June 22.

"There's specific restrictions now in place, related to traveling off the roadways, use of fireworks, fires when you're camping and contained fires," said Commissioner Bob Bugert. "It is very restrictive for that Valley area."
