Chelan Douglas Health District Reports Uptick in COVID-19 Hospitalizations, All Unvaccinated
The Chelan Douglas Health District reported a threefold increase in COVID-19 cases within the two county area over the course of three weeks with a corresponding rise in hospitalizations.
"The big thing about this Delta variant that is different is that it is significantly more infectious and the time between people who are getting exposed and developing symptoms is much shorter," said Luke Davies, administrator. "We are seeing a very fast rise in cases."
Davies suggests regardless of vaccination status, folks should wear masks indoors in public places and unvaccinated folks should order take out from favorite local businesses.
"Every day we're going up by about two to three patients at Confluence Health," said Davies.
All 21 COVID-19 positive patients are unvaccinated.
