Chelan Douglas Health District Sets Plan In Case of Surge in School COVID Cases
With schools in the surrounding communities returning to in person instruction, the Chelan Douglas Health District has constructed a plan in case positive cases start to spike based in the schools.
The school districts, particularly the two largest districts Eastmont and Wenatchee, will be closely monitoring the students and staff for illness. The health district will also be doing focus testing particularly for staff members who show symptoms.
"The plan is if there are more than two confirmed cases in a cohort, or a group, of students, that cohort would be quarantined," said Dr. Peter Houck, epidemiologist.
If multiple cohorts have more than two confirmed cases, the school would be shut down for fourteen days
