The snowy conditions overnight and into the early hours of Tuesday has led to power outages disrupting homeowners throughout the Valley. The PUD is taking an all hands on deck approach with crews working on the major power lines and substations that serve the most people first before heading to individual neighborhoods.

"We are working through an outage right now of our Plain and Lake Wenatchee substations so much of those neighborhoods up there surrounding Lake Wenatchee are out of power right now," said Rachel Hansen, Senior Communications Strategist.

Power has been restored in much of Manson after a transmission line that fed these areas went down overnight due to heavy and wet snow. According to Hansen, crews are still focused on individual gulches and the South Shore.

"What you can expect today is there might be little blips in power. You might get a five minute, two minute outage as that heavy snow starts dropping on the lines," said Hansen. "We just encourage folks to wait five minutes before giving us a call. It might just restore itself."

Hansen notes the PUD is aware of outages in the Big Y area as well as Peshastin with crews planned to take on this part of the Valley later today.

"I just want to remind folks of what to do in a power outage. If you could please turn off all but one light and any sensitive electrical appliances," said Hansen. "When we do restore power, those power levels can vary pretty considerably and to prevent any damage to your electrical appliances, just turn off most of your lights."
