City Of Wenatchee Parks, Recreation And Cultural Services Offering Spring Youth Track And Field Program
The City of Wenatchee Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services is accepting registrations for the Spring Youth Track & Field Program. Boys and girls ages 7-10 are invited to register for practice.
Recreation Supervisor Caryl Andres with The City of Wenatchee Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services says practices will begin the second week of May. "We start practicing May 9 at the Wenatchee High School Track, we practice on Monday, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m."
Andre says the program is a good way to introduce kids to track and field events. "It's an introduction into track and field and learning the events," she said. "It teaches the kids how to do them correctly, and at the end of the training period, which is about a month, we do a 'fun meet' on a Saturday where they get an opportunity to be at a real track meet."
