After Douglas county's proclamation Wednesday designating some residential construction as an essential activity, other jurisdictions are having to clarify their position on the issue.

Wenatchee Mayor Frank Kuntz said during Thursday night's City Council meeting that he made some phone calls after learning that the Chelan-Douglas Health District agreed with Douglas county's interpretation of the governor's restrictions.

"I was on the phone today with the governor's chief legal counsel who told me that they are interpreting that rule incorrectly." detailed Kuntz, "She suggested the City of Wenatchee continue to do things the way we've been doing them."

Kuntz confirmed the city will stay put with what they were doing.

The City of Wenatchee currently only allows residential construction if the home is refinancing or is ready for final inspections.
