A Cashmere resident reported seeing a cougar near the high school around 11 am Friday.

Fish and Wildlife Sergeant Danyl Klump said that although they didn't find anything but old tracks when they investigated the area, that doesn't mean there wasn't a cougar.

"We are asking the community that, if they do see something around the Cashmere area, please call Wildcom dispatch or call Rivercom ... as we continue to monitor the situation," added Klump.

There was also another possible cougar sighting earlier in the week near Pioneer Ave.

You can contact WildCom dispatch at 877-933-9847 or RiverCom dispatch at 509-663-9911.
