COVID Variants Confirmed in Okanogan County

Okanogan County Public Health says they have verified that both the UK and California variants of COVID-19 have been discovered in area residents.

The Health Department says the variants were discovered in two different people who tested positive for coronavirus in late April.

Officials are warning residents that these particular variants appear to spread more easily than the original and are asking everyone to continue to take precautions such as getting a vaccine, wearing your mask and maintaining physical distancing.
