Deer vs Motorcycle Collision Turns Fatal on SR20

A deer vs a three-wheeled motorcycle on State Route 20 east of Twisp Friday evening ended in a fatality.

Trooper John Bryant says 69-year-old Larry Pesacreta of Rainier was driving a trike eastbound as his passenger, 77-year-old Freda Sallee, also of Rainier, sat behind him.

"Unfortunately a deer entered the roadway from the shoulder." explained Bryant, "The vehicle struck the deer, went through the westbound lane into a field, and through a fence as well. It may have rolled at one point."

Both riders were wearing their helmets but were ejected.

Sallee passed away before she could be airlifted, while Pesacreta was airlifted to Central Washington Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
