East Wenatchee Encourages Organizations to Apply for American Rescue Plan Funds
City of East Wenatchee received a little over $3 million from the federal government in American Rescue Plan funds. The city has received half of the total $3 million, with $1.5 million available
A committee that consists of Mayor Jerrilea Crawford, the city's finance director and three council members are responsible for evaluating how the funding is spent. The committee opted to break down the $1.5 million into thirds: emergency needs that crop up due to the pandemic, city expenses and community needs.
"The funds can be used for anything that helps our community stay healthy, obviously related to COVID. Or nonprofits that had significant drops in their revenue," said Crawford.
An application is available on the city of East Wenatchee's website.
