Eastmont's remaining fall sports began Monday, with school districts only set to play other districts within the four-county North Central region.

Fall sports include football, girls volleyball, girls swimming, girls soccer and both girls and boys cross country.

Athletic Director Russ Waterman said the region will host fall sports, then move to spring sports (which did not get to participate last year), and finally shift to winter sports as the school year wanes. Spring sports should begin sometime around Spring Break.

"So all of our sports on all of our levels except for varsity football have some capacity to have fans in there. We're still working on the specifics of that. Whether we're going to work from seniors down and work with families before we open it up to the general public," explained Waterman.

Districts in the region have decided to not host any visiting fans this year. Eastmont varsity football will still enjoy Big-9 rivalry games with Wenatchee and Moses Lake. Eastmont is also streaming all of its football games online.

Waterman said schools are still waiting on guidance from the state for a defined pathway for boys and girls basketball as well as wrestling. In Phase 2 of Washington's Road to Recovery plan, those sports can host scrimmages within a team, but playing against another school is currently not allowed.

Although much has still yet to be hashed out, parents and interested parties can view Eastmont's athletics at eastmontathletics.com.
