Eastmont School District, along with other North Central Washington districts, will be welcoming students back into classrooms for full time in person learning this upcoming school year. The first day of school is August 25 set to run on a regular Monday through Friday schedule.

The online alternative programming, Eastmont Academy increased from 50 students to 500 in the 2020-2021 school year, but currently has roughly 100 students enrolled for the upcoming fall semester.

"Our online remote alternative programming, Eastmont Academy,. We have parents who have family members that have health issues that are still concerned about sending children to school and then we also have parents who have concerns about the current requirement to mask all students that are choosing to keep students home," said Superintendent Garn Christensen.

Christensen noted though safeguards are in place in response to COVID, it was a relief to be able to start the year on a regular pre-pandemic schedule.
