Chelan County Superior Court Judge Kristin Ferrera is the newest member of the Legal Foundation of Washington.

Gov. Jay Inslee included Ferrera in a monthly recap of board and commission appointments he's made.

The Legal Foundation handles legal aid programs for low-income people facing eviction or other non-criminal legal action.

Ferrera will serve a two-year term through the end of 2024.

Inslee's recap also included Wenatchee based USDA Forest Service scientist John Lehmkuhl, who has been appointed to the state Fish and Wildlife Commission for four years, and North Central Workforce Development Council member Aaron Parrott, who has been appointed to the state Adult Education Advisory Council.
