Governor Inslee Cracks Down on Nonessential Businesses

Washington Governor Jay Inslee is upping the ante. According to Governor Jay Inslee, his office is getting calls by the thousands about non-essential businesses still open and in violation of his stay home order.

During Monday afternoon's news conference, he noted that any non-essential business still operating will get a warning from law enforcement then could face a revocation of it's businesses license.

"If that is still not enough, local and state authorities are going to refer these complaints to the attorney general for law enforcement either for civil or criminal charges," said Governor Inslee. "We know that violating these orders can amount to a gross misdemeanor."

Inslee also set a way for the public to report businesses that are still open when they shouldn't be by going to coronavirus.wa.gov.
