Grant County Fire District 8 Welcoming New Chief

Grant County Fire District 8 announced their new chief Tuesday on Facebook.

Joe Noonchester will take the role beginning July 1.

The new chief has been in fire service for nearly 20 years as a firefighter, engineer, training captain, assistant chief of operations, and interim fire chief.

He steps into the role as Dave Patterson retired for the Mattawa-based agency.

Noonchester was most recently with North Whatcom Fire and Rescue.
