Investigators Searching for Elderly Man who Escaped Carjacking

Investigators are still piecing together a series vehicle thefts during a pursuit in Grant County Monday afternoon just before 3:00 pm, and while they have a suspect it's actually a victim law enforcement is trying to locate.

Grant County Sheriff's PIO Kyle Foreman said the pursuit started outside of Royal City and eventually led to the intersection of Beverly Burke Road Southwest and Road 5 Southwest, where the suspect tried to take the victim's silver Chevy pickup.

"The victim is described as an elderly male. He apparently was successful at getting away from the carjacker." explained Foreman, "The carjacker was taken into custody a few moments later, but the elderly male went on his way and deputies would like to get in touch with him.

Anyone with information is asked to call 509-762-1160 and ask to speak to the patrol sergeant.
