Leavenworth Announces Scheduled Controlled Burn

Leavenworth residents should be aware that Wednesday, October 23, the city will be conducting a prescribed controlled burn on the city owned land adjacent to Mountain View Cemetery. The controlled burn is permitted under the Department of Ecology and Chelan County Fire District No. 3 will be overseeing the burn. The material that's burned is collected by the city as green waste due to the requirements by the Department of Agriculture because of the Apple Maggot Quarantine restrictions.
