Local Fire District Celebrates Two ‘Firefighters of the Year’

Two local firefighters are being honored for their work ethic and contributions to the community.

Chelan County Fire District #1 Chief Brian Brett announced two Firefighter of the Year awards at their recent Appreciation Banquet. Last year's banquet was cancelled due to the COVID pandemic.

Spokesperson Kay McKellar said, "Firefighter Chris Paul was named the 2020 recipient of this honor. Bryson Waller, also a firefighter, received the 2021 award."

Brett thanked everyone in the department for their arduous work during the past year. A meal was prepared by former Executive Secretary Kathy Amaral and staff from Two Chefs Catering.

Members and guests were also shown a year in review video presented by Battalion Chief Al Torres.
