Local Restaurateur Weighs in On COVID Restrictions Impact
Restaurant restrictions have tightened up as of last Sunday with indoor dining no longer being an option and restaurants back to solely providing curbside and to-go orders.
"First and foremost, when I heard about the news I thought my team," said Jenny Rojanasthien, The Thai and Atlas Fare. "This has an incredible impact on my staff."
The restaurant industry was one of the hardest hit sectors to spike for unemployment numbers following the initial restrictions in the spring.
"It's been shared that the uptick in COVID cases is coming from individuals in private settings and not directly small businesses, yet we're really bearing the burden of the shutdown as a result," said Rojanasthien.
Rojanasthien noted she'd like to see more opportunity for small businesses not be directed straight to a shutdown, but rather work with health officials.
