A structure fire in the 3700 block of Bainard Road in Malaga Saturday afternoon required three engines and a tinder truck from Chelan County Fire District 1 as well as an engine from Douglas County Fire 2.

Battalion Chief Peter Rigelman said a 20-foot trailer became fully engulfed, eventually setting a 35-foot trailer on fire. When crews arrived the fire was 10 feet from a nearby home.

Rigleman said, "When the first arriving unites got there they encountered a fully engulfed trailer that had spread to another motor home. They were able to extinguish it without it spreading out to anywhere else."

It took firefighters about 10 minutes to get the fire under control. Both trailers were total losses.

The cause is under investigation by law enforcement.
