Moses Lake Shooting Takes Life of 16-year-old

A shooting in Moses Lake around 4:30 pm Monday left a juvenile dead.

According to our news partner iFIBER ONE, 16-year-old Gavin Hayes was killed by gunfire in the 300 block of Gibby Road. An 18-year-old man was also injured and taken to the hospital.

Moses Lake Police say at least ten rounds were fired from near a home on Lee Street. A search warrant was later served on the home and detectives say they are following up on the evidence they collected.

The shooting appears to be gang related. One individual was detained and has since been released. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Moses Lake Police Department at 509-762-1160..
