National Weather Service: 2020 Ushers in Winter Storms

The National Weather Service is forecasting the New Year to arrive with some stormy weather. Meteorologist Greg Cook in Spokane says moderate to heavy snow is forecast for the mountains with light snow or a wintry mix New Years Eve and New Years Day in the Wenatchee Valley.

Cook says up to 2 inches could be expected at lower elevations and 8 inches or more in the Cascades.  Cook said the storm should help us bring snow totals closer to average since the snowpack has been running a deficit so far this season

The Friday storm system could pack a wallop with winds gusting to 40-45mph.
