Okanogan County Fire District 6 & Douglas County Awarded Over $500,000 in FEMA Funds

Okanogan County Fire District 6 is expecting an allocation of $244,150 and Douglas County is anticipating $271,472 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The funding is through FEMA's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

"The program has six areas that it funds. It funds modifications to facilities, equipment, personal protective equipment, health and wellness and vehicles," said Richard Dunne, fire program specialist.

Both the county and fire district will use the funding toward operations and safety.
