Quincy Moving Forward with A Street SE Reconstruction
The Quincy City Council recently paid $143,500 to Gray & Osborne Inc. for the design phase of the city's A Street SE reconstruction.
City Administrator Pat Haley said the project includes improvements to the curb, gutter, sidewalk and road.
"We will start on that sometime, as weather permits, probably as early as March or April." Haley explained, "There are asphalt and concrete plants that need to opened up, and cold weather is going to prevent that from happening unless we get some favorable conditions."
About 1,300 feet of road between 8th Ave SE and Columbia Way will be reconstructed and repaved.
Construction is expected to be complete by late August of this year.
