Returns for Tuesday’s Special Election Looking Good So Far
It's time to get those ballots submitted if you're in one of the communities voting in Tuesday's Special Election.
Voters can still register for the February 8th election at their county auditor's office until 8:00 pm Election Night.
Chelan County is reporting a roughly 28% return so far, a little higher than they normally see for off-cycle elections. The hope is that returns will pick up over the next week and result in a 50-60% return.
Douglas County is reporting a 27% return so far.
The only items on the Chelan or Douglas County ballots are proposed levies from school districts, so some communities will not see a ballot for this election.
At this point, it's best to avoid sending your ballot back through the mail. Instead completed ballots should be put in a county drop box.
