Chelan PUD is set to reopen its doors to the Rocky Reach Discovery Center August 28 and will showcase new additions from its remodel. On August 28, the Discovery Center will be open to visitors from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for folks to catch up on lost time at the center.

"They can expect a whole new experience," said Debbie Gallaher, visitor services manager. "This is going to be an incredible Discovery Center with three floors of interactive exhibits all based around STEM."

One of the exhibits includes a six foot fish usually used as a teaching tool by Chelan PUD staff and the fish viewing experience has been improved with new windows. A new entrance will be available in the fish viewing area, which hasn't been permitted since after 2001.

"There will be entertainment in the park with kid activities, family activities, art projects and some music," said Bob Bauer, education specialist. "Then of course, the experience of the brand new Discovery Center."

There will be three mini theaters available on each floor as well as a café.

Admission to Rocky Reach Discovery Center is free for visitors.
