School district employees in Washington will enroll in the new School Employees Benefits Board, or SEBB, Program beginning October 1st. Dave Iseminger, Director of Employees and Retirees Benefit Division at the Health Care Authority says it's important to engage during the enrollment period.

"Pull all of the risk together for all of the school employees across the state, we were able to implement a premium ratio that's really more affordable for families going forward."

Coverage for a full family will be no more than three times for the cost of an individual, or at most $348 for the most expensive plan available.

Iseminger says that's not the only change, determining  your premium will also be easier and your coverage will depend on where you live, not where you work.

"It's really going to be that kind of culture shift where people focus on the type of care that they want and the extent that they're getting care so that they can assess which of the various plans they want. That'll be an important piece."

Benefits fairs are taking place in Wenatchee October 3rd, Moses Lake on October 21st and Omak October 24th.
