Sealby Named Chelan County Prosecutor
The Chelan County Board of Commissioners unanimously selected attorney Robert Sealby Tuesday as the county's next chief prosecutor.
Commissioner Bob Bugert said Sealby was chosen from three candidates submitted by the Chelan County Republican Central Committee. The candidates were all rigorously interviewed Tuesday, with detailed discussions, background checks and a review of their references.
"All three would have made excellent prosecuting attorneys, but clearly Robert Sealby was the most qualified based upon his experience, demeanor and his management skills." stated Bugert, "He's got experience both in the criminal side and the civil side, which is very helpful."
Sealby will be sworn in June 1st by Judge Lesley Allan. He replaces current County Prosecutor Doug Shae, who will retire May 31st. Sealby will hold the position of County Prosecutor until the end of what would have been Shae's term in 2022.
