An accident between a semi and a minivan around 2:00 pm Wednesday on US 97 seven miles north of Orondo blocked the roadway for about three hours.

Trooper John Bryant said 81-year-old Calvin Anderson of East Wenatchee was driving the empty semi when it left its lane.

"The semi driver is going to be cited for driving too fast. He was the cause of the collision," explained Bryant.

The 79-year-old driver of the minivan and his passenger suffered minor injuries and were transported to Central Washington Hospital. Anderson was uninjured.

The accident is still under investigation.
