Slidewaters Gears Up to Open for Summer 2021 With New Surfing Attraction

Chelan based waterpark, Slidewaters, is preparing for summer 2021 with the recent addition of the world's largest river wave attraction for public surfers with the Lakeside Surf. Folks can start booking for sessions on April 7 with surfing starting on May 1 until October.

"Lakeside Surf is a stand alone surf park located next to Slidewaters," said Robert Bordner, co-owner. "It's modeled after surfing in the river. It's stationary surfing. So the water is passing you by and you're surfing the energy, surfers are going left to right and then up and down the face of the wave."

According to Bordner, the width is what makes Lakeside Surf the largest river wave attraction in the world. Surfers can go almost 55 feet left to right.

"We're almost doubling what they've done previous because of technology that we've created and we've been able to do as well as power and water rates in North Central Washington are just fabulous so it's enabled us to go bigger and better than anyone else," said Bordner.

Lakeside Surf will have a longer season than Slidewaters.
