The only adult suspect in a string of arsons in the Soap Lake area was convicted Tuesday morning in Grant County.

Sheriff's PIO Kyle Foreman stated 22-year-old Alexandra Gray of Ephrata started at least five structure fires in the Soap Lake Area last year from April to May.

Gray was initially charged with two counts of 2nd degree arson and 2nd degree burglary, but through a plea was only charged with 2nd degree reckless burning instead.

"She was given a suspended sentence of 364 days which was suspended for two years." Foreman said, "She also has to pay $3,200 of restitution to the property owner where the fires occurred."

Gray was arrested after she and a juvenile accomplice were both identified by a game camera. A juvenile suspect is also expected to plead guilty at a later date.

The string of arsons committed by Gray is not to be confused with the efforts of the haystack fire arsonist(s), who is still believed to be at large.
