The Brewster Police Department is announcing they've finally made an arrest in the case of two intentionally set fires that destroyed one church and damaged another back in November of 2020.

27-year-old Eduardo Martinez-Martinez was arrested March 9th after he was interviewed and allegedly confessed to the crimes. Evidence sent to the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab allegedly indicated his involvement in the two blazes.

On November 11th, 2020 the New Testament Baptist Church was completely destroyed and the Holy Heart Catholic Church, a block south, was damaged when two fires sprang up almost simultaneously.

Martinez-Martinez was taken to the Okanogan County Jail on arson charges.
