Law enforcement responded to a vehicle that left the roadway on Highway 97, eight miles north of Blewett Pass around 9:00 am Friday.

Trooper John Bryant said 58-year-old Kevin Bown of Quilcene, Washington was driving a white Ford F-150 pickup when it left the northbound lane, rolling down a 15-foot embankment and landing on its top in a nearby creek.

Bowen reportedly was attempting to flag down traffic after the accident due to the poor cell service in the area.

"It appeared to be non-injury." Bryant explained, "The driver of course was wet and probably pretty cold from that water up there, no doubt."

Bowen was later transported to Cascade Medical Center, although it was unknown if it was out of precaution.

"We shut down part of a lane and Washington State Department of Transportation and helped assist with traffic control," added Bryant.

The cause of the accident is unknown.
