Twisp House Fire Claims Resident

A house fire claimed the life of a Twisp resident Saturday night.

According to Okanogan County Fired District 6's Facebook page, crews from Twisp, Winthrop and Mazama, as well as law enforcement, all responded to a fully involved home in Twisp Saturday around 9:30 pm. The house could not be saved, although crews were able to keep the fire from spreading into the home's garage.

Sadly, one unidentified deceased person was found in the home. Crews stayed on scene until approximately 2:30 am Sunday.

There are no additional details at this time. The investigation is being handled by law enforcement and is ongoing.
